Yesterday was the first of up to 12 Taxol treatments. It
went a lot faster, as there was only one chemo and not as many pre-treatments.
Nausea isn’t as big of an issue with this one, but allergic reactions/skin
issues can be, so the pre-treatment included Benadryl and a steroid. As the
nurse told me, I get the Benadryl to put me to sleep and the steroid to keep me
awake. Yippee! That’s probably why I’m writing this at 4:30 a.m.

I was a little apprehensive, wondering what this new
treatment would bring. Actually, so far I’ve felt good. I took a nap after
treatment and had a great rest of the day. We’ll see how it goes later this week
after the steroid wears off. Hopefully the only difference is SLEEP!
Carol, a good friend from work, gave me a pair of very comfy leggings with light bulbs on them. She told me they were to remind me of all my friends at Sunflower who are keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. I like to wear them on Chemo days!

Last weekend was so much fun! Kyle and Caitlin brought Baby
K over Friday night and what a sweet, amazing little girl she is. It was the
first time she stayed without Mom and Dad and she did great! She slept from
9:30 until 8:00 Sat and 9:30 to 6:00 on Sunday. You can’t ask for more than
that! Nap times were great too. She’s like a little pinball machine, moving
from toy to toy or Pop Pop and Grammy. Happy as a lark to just be piddling
around. She LOVEs books, which is right up Grammy’s alley, so we read a lot.
She loves to snuggle, give kisses and giggle. What’s not to love! We ended up
taking her to Salina after church on Sunday, so Mom and Dad didn’t have to
drive all the way from KC to get her. We managed to squeeze in a little
shopping, so even better. Grandbabies are truly the best medicine!
